Keohane fifth in Castle Combe

Michael Keohane, racing with the Carlin Motorsport team, finished fifth in today’s first race in the Avon Tyres British Formula 3 Championship in Castle Combe.

The race was won by Robbie Kerr from James Courtney.

In the Scholarship Class, there was an Irish 1-2 with Adam Carroll winning the Class from Stephen Colbert.

In the Nurburgring, Dubliner, Michael Devaney finished sixth in his first race in the German BMW Championship. In the second race, he retired at the first corner with broken suspension.

The British Touring Car Championship Sprint Race at Mondello Park, Matt Neal, in the Egg Sport Vauxhall Astra took the race win from the Vauxhall of James Thompson with David Leslie (Proton Impian) third.

Ireland’s Alan Morrison (Honda) retired on lap 12, while fellow Northern Ireland ace, Colin Turkington (MG) was ruled out of the race with a bout of food poisoning.

Yvan Muller retired on the eighth lap.

John O’Hara claimed pole for the Formula Ireland race, and he will be joined on the first row by Peter Walsh with Peter Le Bas and Robbie Coleman on the second row.
