Mick agrees to stay in charge until 2004

Mick McCarthy has agreed to stay on as manager of the Republic of Ireland until 2004.

Ireland’s heroic World Cup campaign has persuaded the 43-year-old Yorkshireman to see out his contract and remain in charge for the forthcoming Euro 2004 qualifying campaign.
