O’Sullivan takes over at top of rankings

New world champion Peter Ebdon has climbed to third in the rankings following his title win in Sheffield yesterday but semi-final loser Ronnie O’Sullivan will start next season as the sport’s number one.

O’Sullivan finished top of the world rankings, replacing Mark Williams who drops to second, despite being beaten by Stephen Hendry at the Crucible at the weekend but Ebdon already has ambitions to shoot down ‘The Rocket’.
