Courtney back on pole
Australian James Courtney of Carlin Motorsport claimed his fifth pole position in six races when he set fastest time at Silverstone today.
The Avon Tyres British Formula 3 Championship leader, who managed only fifth yesterday, found his form in perfect time to qualify ahead of 2001 Scholarship Champion, Robbie Kerr.
Northern Ireland’s Adam Carroll racing in the Scholarship Class with Sweney Racing, was in sensational form.
He was third quickest in the session and will line up on the second row for tomorrow’s second race - round 6 of the series - where he will be accompanied by Mark Taylor.
It was also a good session for Fortec duo, Heikki Kovalainen and Fabio Carbone, who are on the third row ahead of Bruce Jouanny and Ernani Judice.
Cork driver Michael Keohane, who won the last two rounds in Donington Park, had a somewhat difficult time and qualified tenth.
