Stevens in buoyant mood after 145
Matthew Stevens resumes his quarter-final of the 2002 Embassy World Championship today in buoyant form after producing the highest break of the championship.
Stephens produced a superb 145 - just a few hours after Stephen Hendry staked his claim with a 141 clearance.
Stevens dominated the second session of his quarter-final clash with John Higgins. Stevens, the world number six, will take a 10-6 lead into today's deciding session.
Meanwhile Hendry was pegged back by Ken Doherty in their last-eight clash, letting slip a four-frame lead to finish at 8-8. The Dubliner resumes his quarter-final with Hendry at 2.30pm today.
