Lee eases into last eight

Eighth seed Stephen Lee progressed to the quarter-finals of the Embassy World Championship today with a 13-3 win over Quinten Hann.

Lee also treated the crowd to some high-quality break-building in his match with the Australian.

The Wiltshire cueman opened with an 86 break before quickly winning the second frame for a 9-1 advantage.

Hann again smashed the pack open off the break in the 11th - but all it did was give Lee another frame-winning chance which he duly snapped up.

Hann squandered two chances in the next frame, and Lee stepped in to take an 11-1 lead at the mid-session interval.

The Melbourne professional fought back after the break and won two frames, but Lee held his nerve to secure victory with a session to spare.
