Schumacher snatches pole
Michael Schumacher conjured up another blistering lap in Spain to snatch pole position from team-mate Rubens Barrichello again.
The world champion grabbed his third pole of the season - and the 46th of his career - by the comfortable margin of 0.326 seconds to spearhead another Ferrari domination of qualifying for the Spanish Grand Prix.
Schumacher's brother Ralf was third fastest for Williams-BMW but a massive 0.9secs adrift while team-mate Juan Pablo Montoya took fourth right at the end of the session on the Circuit de Catalunya.
Finland's Kimi Raikkonen finished fifth to take a three-two lead in the qualifying battle with fellow McLaren driver David Coulthard, who was back in seventh spot.
Coulthard's worst qualifying performance of the season also saw him lose out to Jenson Button who claimed his best of the campaign for Renault with sixth spot.
Eddie Irvine was 15th for Jaguar Racing while Allan McNish finished in 20th spot having spun and clipped the barrier at the entrance of the pit-lane earlier in the session.
