Motorsport: Keohane completes Donington double
Irish driver, Michael Keohane, racing with the Carlin Motorsport team in the British Formula 3 Championship at Donington Park, completed a sensational race double when he won today’s fourth round.
The West Cork driver got the better start ahead of his team mate and pole sitter, James Courtney (Australia) and never relinquished the lead role throughout the 20 laps race.
Lap by lap Keohane (22) kept his composure and took the chequered flag in superb style. Earlier today, he won the third round of the British F3 Championship.
That win was the first for a southern Irish driver to win a round of the British F3 Championship since Tommy Byrne won in 1982.
In the second race, Keohane was followed home by Courtney and Robbie Kerr.
Just like the first race, Adam Carroll was a runaway winner of the Scholarship class.
