Snooker: Hendry reaches last 16 in Scotland
Stephen Hendry has booked a place in the last 16 of the Regal Scottish Open after beating Tony Drago in Aberdeen last night.
Hendry was trailing 2-1 at one stage, but he won three consecutive frames to take a 4-2 lead. Drago won a scrappy seventh frame to close the gap to 4-3 and was leading 48-0 in the eighth.
However, after escaping a snooker on the third-last red, he could only watch as Hendry produced a 41 clearance to win the match 5-3.
The Scot will now go on to play either Ireland’s Fergal O’Brien or England’s Ali Carter in the next round.
Elsewhere last night, Mark King beat Anthony Hamilton 5-1, while world number one Mark Williams beat Brian Morgan 5-3.
