Snooker: Ebdon reaches Irish Masters semi-finals
Peter Ebdon has beaten Mark Williams in the quarter-finals of the Irish Masters.
Ebdon won 6-4 in the CityWest Hotel this evening to become the first player to book a place in the semi-finals.
Williams won the opening frame on the pink, but then lost four in a row as Ebdon compiled breaks of 110, 77 and 113.
Williams came back to 4-2 before Ebdon won the seventh with a 93 clearance, but the Welshman refused to give up and won two consecutive frames to close the gap to just one.
However, he missed a black in the 10th and Ebdon mopped up to clinch a place in the last four.
