F1: Stewart hails safety measures

Formula One legend Jackie Stewart paid tribute to the excellent safety standards in the sport after the shocking eight-car pile-up in today’s Australian Grand Prix.

Ralf Schumacher smashed into the rear of pole man Rubens Barrichello at the first corner and sparked series of ‘‘chain reaction’’ shunts that marred the opening race of the 2002 season.
