F1: Rubens singing in the rain

Rubens Barrichello celebrated a rare qualifying success over Ferrari team-mate Michael Schumacher in Australia this morning, then said: ‘‘What a great beginning to the season.’’

The Brazilian came out on top in a rain-hit qualifying session for tomorrow’s opening race in Melbourne as the Ferrari duo dominated in their old cars.
