F1: Barrichello on pole

Rubens Barrichello snatched pole position for tomorrow’s Australian Grand Prix from world champion Michael Schumacher as the first qualifying battle of the season turned into a wash-out in Melbourne this morning.

The Brazilian claimed only the fourth pole of his career and first since Britain in 2000 by just 0.005 seconds from the reigning world champion with both driving last year’s Ferrari.
