Snooker: O'Brien wins against Davis

Dubliner Fergal O’Brien has defeated Steve Davis in the first round of the Benson and Hedges Masters in Wembley today in a closely contested game.

O’Brien produced the highest break of the game in the very first frame, a break of 100, but the result was always in doubt and went right to the wire.

O’Brien was five frames to two behind at one stage and had to win three frames on the trot to gain a place in the second round, winning by six frames to five.
