Snooker: Doherty up against it

Ken Doherty faced an extremely tough task to retain his Regal Welsh Open title at Cardiff today.

After the first session in the best-of-17-frame final, Paul Hunter led Doherty 5-3, but it could have been so much worse for the Dubliner, attempting to join the exclusive club of seven players who have successively defended a world ranking event.
