Motorsport: Free car for two Formula Ireland drivers
Formula Ireland, the new premier class for single-seater racing that already boasts the biggest prize
fund in the history of Irish racing, has announced that the first 10 drivers to place a deposit for a new car will be eligible for a free draw.
The spectacular prize - for two of the 10 drivers - is the use of a Van Diemen-built Formula Ireland car for the championship.
The overall winner of the Formula Ireland series will receive a test drive with a Formula 3000 team, a
substantial cash prize courtesy of the "Friends of Mondello" and a commitment to career help and guidance from several of Ireland’s top motorsport personalities.
Second and third placed drivers will win test drives with a Formula 3 team along with cash prizes.
Organisers of the series have also announced that Dunlop Ireland will supply Formula 3 specification tyres for the series.
Formula Ireland is jointly promoted by Motorsport Ireland, the governing body of Irish Motorsport and
Mondello Park. It is designed to test the ability of Irish drivers.
Apart from Formula Ireland, the other championships are Formula Ford Zetec, Fiat Punto/Abarth and RT 2000.
