UK Athletics chief executive David Moorcroft believes it will be years before Britain is ready to bid for the IAAF World Athletics Championships again.

The failure to develop a suitable venue at Picketts Lock, North London, cost Britain the right to host the 2005 event, and with the future of Wembley still not guaranteed, Moorcroft believes the sport is no further forward than it was in 1999.
