Basketball: Weekend fixtures include Dublin derby
Sligo are back in Dublin this weekend when they play Big Al's Notre Dame. Seco Camera is back in action for Big Al's having recovered from an ankle injury.
The Dublin Derby between Tolka Rovers and Dart Killester takes place on Saturday. Tolka Rovers seem to be back on track after two wins over Demons and Big Al's last weekend. Prior to that Tolka Rovers suffered three consecutive losses. Both teams are fully fit ahead of the clash.
The big Munster clash is in Tralee between table toppers Waterford Crystal and Frosties Tigers.
The Superleague teams will be rooting for Frosties Tigers this weekend to reduce Crystal's 4-point lead.
Tralee have a full squad ahead of the weekend and with Rik Leonard back on form Tralee may well
put a stop to Waterford's winning ways.
Waterford will travel without Joe Malone this weekend. Malone is Crystal's big surprise this season. He came on board having never played serious basketball before and is now the team's leading rebounder. The 6'10'' Kilkenny man will be sorely missed inside.
Esat Business Demons will be without Shane Coughlan over Christmas. Coughlan's appeal against his 11 game ban was heard last week and the NEC reduced the ban to three games. After his outstanding performance last weekend, Coughlan will be a big loss to the Cork team in the coming weeks, particularly facing top teams Burger King Limerick and Waterford Crystal.
