Boxing: McCullough to sue BBBC
Irish boxer Wayne McCullough is to sue the British Boxing Board of Control following its refusal to grant him a licence to fight in October 2000.
McCullough said he has medical documents from that time which show that, despite an irregularity found during a routine brain scan, the three BBBC doctors assigned to the case found no significant abnormality.
This finding was also confirmed by doctors in Dublin.
McCullough, who won a silver medal for Ireland at the Barcelona Olympics, is still ranked number three in the world by the WBC and he hopes to get his career back on track in the US in his bout with Alvin Brown on December 19.
