Boxing: Warren wants Hamed to meet Harrison

Boxing promoter Frank Warren has again challenged Naseem Hamed to re-launch his career against Scott Harrison.

Warren believes Scottish fighter Harrison can prove to be the ideal challenge for Naz despite the fact that any bout between the two is unlikely to happen.

Hamed has not been seen in action since his IBO featherweight title defeat by Marco Antonio Barrera in April.

He split acrimoniously from Warren, who has consistently offered challengers to him, earlier in his career.

‘‘Harrison has the perfect style to beat Hamed,’’ said Warren.

‘‘He applies the same pressure as Marco Antonio Barrera and will give Hamed all the problems in the world.

‘‘Harrison will go one better than Barrera and knock-out Hamed.’’

Warren added: ‘‘This is a serious offer.

‘‘This is a fight that all boxing fans want to see and Hamed can even have hometown advantage.’’

Harrison took just three rounds to destroy the challenge of former WBO champion Steve Robinson at the Bellahouston Leisure Centre at the weekend.
