For the second year in a row, Johnny O’Sullivan/Pat Cashman (Escort WRC) are the winners of the Yokohama Tyres Kerry Winter Rally.

The third and final run was cut short when a number of spectators failed to obey the instructions of a rally marshal.

The spectators involved had made their way into an unsafe position,

They became unruly with the marshal and contact was made with the relevant officials, who stopped all other cars entering the stage.

Just three cars actually traversed the stage, O’Sullivan did enough to secure back-to-back wins from a hard-trying Ed Synan

Synan was almost caught by Ray Breen, who closed to within two seconds, courtesy of a fastest time through the stage.

The other positions in the top 10 remained unchanged with Liam Davis holding on to fourth ahead of Escort duo, Tom Randles and Damien Keenan.

Seventh place was taken by John Kearney with Mike O’Leary (Sierra), Brendan Brosnan (Escort) and David Percy completing the top ten.

In Mondello Park, the MEC Rallysprint was won by David Aiken (Nova), he finished ahead of the Opel Tigra of Michael Curtis and the Toyota Celica of Eddie Kinirons.
