Basketball: O'Connell to receive Player of Month award

ESB SuperLeague rookie Saragh Jane O'Connell will be presented with her

Player of the Month award for October prior to Glanmire's SuperLeague game against champions Bausch & Lomb Wildcats.

The presentation will be made by P.J. Kavanagh of the ESB.

The game will be recorded to be shown on the new magazine programme "Hoops Zone" which gets its first airing on Tuesday November 20, at 6.30pm on TG4.

"Hoops Zone", presented by Sally McArdle, will show weekly highlights of

the top games in the SuperLeague, features, competitions, Skills n Drills,

and the weekly "Hoops Challenge".

In the first programme, Sally meets members of the National team as they

prepare for the biggest challenge they have ever faced - the semi-final

round of the European Championships
