Madrid Open: Higgins leads at halfway stage

Irishman David Higgins leads the Telefonica Open de Madrid on 13 under par at the halfway stage and took a huge step towards retaining his playing privileges for the 2002 European Tour.

Higgins shot his lowest ever round as a professional with a second round nine under par, 62, and has not dropped a shot for the second consecutive day.
