Boxing: Tyson tips the scales

Mike Tyson broke through the 17st barrier for the first time in his 16-year career, at the official weigh-in for his clash with Brian Neilsen in Copenhagen.

Tyson hit 17st 1lb for Saturday's clash with the Dane at the Parken Stadium, but it was believed the scales were weighing heavy.

Even so, Tyson will still have registered above his previous highest mark of 15st 13lbs.

Since Tyson turned professional in 1985, the former undisputed world champion's weight has differed by around 10lbs.

He will still be lighter than Neilsen, who registered just over 18st 7lbs for the biggest fight of his life.

It was reckoned scales may have been 6lbs out, and Neilsen said: "The weights are not right.

"It has nothing to do with me, I'm heavier than he is, either way. He has a problem if he hasn't taken the fight seriously."
