Formula One: Schumacher leads Monza warm-up

Michael Schumacher led the morning warm-up for the Italian Grand Prix but drew little enthusiasm from an unusually sober crowd.

Schumacher drove a Ferrari with a black front as a sign of mourning for the victims of terrorist attacks in the United States.

The world champion registered the fastest lap in one minute, 26.029 seconds with a race set-up.

David Coulthard was second in a McLaren Mercedes, 0.05 seconds behind Schumacher.

Colombian Juan Pablo Montoya, who is on pole, came in third in a Williams BMW, 0.2 behind.

Rubens Barrichello, Schumacher's team-mate, was fourth ahead of Kimi Raikkonen in a Sauber.

Montoya and Barrichello will start from the front row in the race.
