Formula 1: Alesi reflects on positive race
Veteran Jean Alesi reflected on a job well done after he earned a point at the Belgian Grand Prix.
The Frenchman finished sixth in his Jordan but there were no celebrations for team-mate Jarno Trulli.
Trulli retired with engine problems after 32 laps but the focus was on Alesi's good finish.
He said: "This is such a good result for me and the team. When I came to Jordan, I knew that the team really wanted to increase its points and I put myself under a lot of pressure to achieve this for the team.
"It was really motivating to see the pit board with my name and position on it with drivers such as Rubens [Barrichello] and Ralf [Schumacher]behind me.
"To score points in Formula One at the moment is very hard, but the team has made a good step forward in terms of reliability and I hope that my first point here for Jordan is only a starting point."
Trulli shrugged: "Unfortunately the engine failed just four laps from the end when I was set to finish in fifth place.
"It is great though that Jean was able to bring home a point for the team and I am happy that rhe car's performance provided me with the opportunity to race competitively."
