Formula 1: Schumacher's lawyer threatens to sue teenager

A teenage fan of Michael Schumacher could be sued over a prize-winning website he set up in honour of his idol.

The Formula 1 star's lawyer has written to the 18-year-old telling him to stop using Schumacher's name or face a court case.

He is reported to have told Michael Stanka the site is an unauthorised use of the name.

Michael, from Waiblingen, set up www.michas-formel1-site.de, as part of a school project two years ago. It has won several awards and is often quoted by the German Press Agency DPA.

The site makes no profit and the few hundred pounds a week it costs to maintain is funded by sponsors such as electric goods firm Penco Elektronik. That allows Michael to send out a regular SMS newsletter and give the press agencies information.

Lawyer Dr Nils Harder says the donation falsely makes it look as though Michael Schumacher has endorsed the company which runs the website.
