Paul Harris (Subaru) continues to lead the Tipperary Stonethrowers Rally, however, hopes of a ninth victory for Frank Meagher disappeared on the third stage when the throttle cable of his Ford Focus WRC snapped.

The Cloneen driver lost over seven minutes before he re-joined the rally.

Although he set fastest time on the fourth stage, he is down in 83rd place.

Harris is 55 seconds ahead of the NVD liveried Subaru WRC of Eamonn Boland with the Escort Cosworth of David Armstrong in third.

Michael Barrable has increased his pace and moved into fourth ahead of the Subaru Impreza of Patrick Elliott.

Local Clonmel hero, Roy White (Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 6) continues to dominate the showroom category. He is also fifth in overall classification. Jimmy Lambert,

another local favourite, is seventh as the crews head to the final two stages.

Retirements include Peadar Hurson, Daniel Doherty, George Cullen and Johnny O’Sullivan.
