Formula One: Jordan sign Jean Alesi
The Jordan Formula One team has signed Jean Alesi from Prost for the remainder of the 2001 season.
Alesi will take the place left vacant after team chairman Eddie Jordan sacked Heinz-Harald Frentzen following a bust-up in the wake of the British Grand Prix.
Alesi, who won the 1989 Formula 3000 Championship for Jordan, will return to the team at the Hungarian Grand Prix on August 19.
Ricardo Zonta, who took Frentzen's place in the German Grand Prix, will resume testing duties as Jordan's third driver.
