Tour de France: Prologue goes to Moreau

Frenchman Christophe Moreau delighted the home supporters by winning the Tour de France prologue in Dunkirk.

The 29-year-old Festina rider finished in nine minutes 20 seconds, three seconds ahead of second-placed Igor Gonzalez de Galdeano of ONCE.

Defending champion Lance Armstrong of US Postal Service, who is in pursuit of his third successive Tour title, was a second further back in third.

His biggest rival and 1997 winner Jan Ullrich of Telekom was fourth, three seconds behind the American.
