Motorsport: Kerr takes second pole, Keohane takes second spot
In very humid conditions at Brands Hatch, Robbie Kerr claimed his second Scholarship Class pole position.
Cork’s Michael Keohane was second fastest despite a misfire in his Weathermaster/Clonakilty Black pudding/irishmobiles.com car.
Matthew Gilmore, the championship leader, was third fastest around the Kent circuit.
The session was almost a carbon copy this morning’s first session - red flagged with five minutes remaining.
Kerr, Keohane and Gilmore were the pacesetters followed by Judice.
Keohane pitted after 14 minutes concerned about the misfire - his Meritus team are currently identifying the source of the problem. The Clonakilty driver, who
was second fastest during the morning’s session, will start tomorrow’s first double-header race from the back of the grid.
It transpired that the vertical gurney, part of the rear wing, exceeded the 900mm
permitted width by two millimeters and the organizers penalised the Cork driver for the infringement.
