Golf: Brooks takes early lead

Mark Brooks moves into an early lead in his US Open play-off clash against Retief Goosen at Southern Hills, Tulsa.

After both players opened with par fours at the holes one and two, Brooks moved ahead at the 408-yard third.

Goosen was again bunkered and again saved par, this time from six feet.

But the Texas played a beautiful second to four feet and sank the birdie putt.

That was the score after the fourth as both players once again claimed par fours.
