Squash: Campaign continues for Olympic recognition
The World Squash Federation have continued their campaign to gain Olympic recognition by lobbying the committee hoping to bring the 2008 Games to France.
WSF president Susie Simcock led a delegation, which included 10-times world champion Jahangir Khan, to meet with the organisers of the Paris bid and put forward their case for having squash included in the showpiece tournament.
‘‘The reception we received from Paris 2008 was the most positive and friendly we have encountered,’’ said Simcock.
‘‘Paris, Beijing and Toronto are all building up to the IOC decision on July 15, but whichever is chosen we know that squash can bring an extra dimension to the world’s greatest sporting event.’’
