Irish boxer loses in the semi-finals of the World Amateur Championships

The captain of the Irish boxing team at the World Amateur Championships in Belfast, James Moore, has lost his semi-final match in the welterweight division.

The man from Arklow was defeated by 36 points to 24 by the much-fancied American boxer, Anthony Thompson, and must now settle for the bronze medal.
