Formula 1: Schumacher wins in Spain

Hakkinen was set to win the Spanish Grand Prix when in the final lap his car let him down and he had to retire from the race leaving Michael Schumacher an easy cruise home.

Juan Pablo Montoya was second, Jacque Villeneuve third, Jarno Trulli was fourth for Jordan, David Coulthard fifth and sixth for the single point was Nick Heidfeld.
