Snooker: Doherty through to Scottish semis
Ken Doherty is through to the semi-finals of the Regal Scottish Open.#
The Dubliner defeated Mark Davis by five frames to three after Davis took the early lead.
Doherty started badly, and conceded the first two frames before coming back to win the following three and go into a one frame lead.
However, Davis, who knocked out tournament favourite Ronnie O'Sullivan, took the next two frames to make it 3-3.
Doherty potted the pink and black under pressure to snatch his fourth frame from Davis.
Two more victories and he will become only the third player in snooker history to capture three successive ranking titles.
"It’s nice to get through not playing my best but Mark made it tough for me," said the provisional world number four, who now faces Paul Hunter or Joe Swail.
Meanwhile, in the other quarter-final this afternoon Peter Ebdon defeated Alan McManus by five frames to two.
