Manchester United have denied reports that they have made a British record transfer bid of £22m for Brazilian Rivaldo.

Manchester United have denied reports that they have made a British record transfer bid of £22m for Brazilian Rivaldo.

The story followed comments apparently made by Barcelona president Joan Gaspart.

The Brazilian star had himself added fuel to the rumours by writing on his website, "I would only leave Barca for Manchester United, Juventus or AC Milan."
