Athletics: Ryan out of world cross country championships

An ankle injury will prevent Rosemary Ryan from taking part in the World cross Country championships in Ostend.

She has been battling the injury since just after her spectacular performance in Scotstown at the end of February.

"I went over on my ankle the week after the nationals," she said.

"I ran on it afterwards and that did not help matters."
