Snooker: Doherty wins in Thailand

Ken Doherty has become only the eighth player ever to win a consecutive world ranking event.

He beat Stephen Hendry nine frames to three in the Thailand Masters in Bangkok.

Doherty won the Regal Welsh Open in January. The back-to-back wins mean he joins Hendry, Steve Davis, Jimmy White, John Parrott, Doug Mountjoy, Mark Williams and John Higgins as only the eighth player to win consecutive ranking events.
