Racing: Niven to ride on

Jump jockey Peter Niven, who is approaching the 1,000-winner mark, has no plans for retirement.

The Scotsman, who needs five more winners to reach his landmark, is sixth in the list of winning-most jump jockeys in British racing history behind Richard Dunwoody (1,699), Peter Scudamore (1,678), Tony McCoy (1,274), John Francome (1,138) and Stan Mellor (1,035).
