Cunningham close to Wimbledon return

Wimbledon boss Terry Burton has revealed that Republic of Ireland international Kenny Cunningham is close to a return to first-team action.

Cunningham, a regular fixture in the Dons defence in the Premier League last term, is yet to feature in first-team football this season but Burton believes his return will add much-needed resolve to the defence.

Burton added: "We need Kenny to come back and give us that experience and stability that we have lacked at times."
