Glanmire survive late drama to reach cup semis

Team Ambassador UCC Glanmire were given a mighty scare before prevailing over WIT Wildcats 61-56 in the Women’s National Cup.

The champions looked in pole position when commanding a nine-point lead entering the final quarter. But the Déise side responded with 10 unanswered points and suddenly it was game on.

When the pressure reached fever pitch Glanmire responded in style with Grainne Dwyer and Claire Rockall — who shared 30 points — outstanding.
