As December arrives, winter training of weights, circuits and hours on the rowing machine is now becoming the norm for rowers across the country.

With this in mind, the Irish Provincial Indoor Rowing Championships took place last weekend in University of Limerick. A smaller provincial event also took place in Garda Rowing Club, Islandbridge in Dublin.

This Limerick event has proven to be a great success in recent years with the day bridging a gap for the long winter months spent on the ergometer. Many recruits from the Rowing Ireland ‘Get Going…Get Rowing’ programme topped the junior U13 and U15 age groups, with students having transitioned to Carlow Rowing Club.
