Laura Renwick caps good week with grand prix success at Millstreet

Britain’s Laura Renwick produced the fastest of three double clears to win the grand prix at the Millstreet International Horse Show in Co Cork, yesterday.

It looked like there might be an Irish winner, but the Essex-based woman powered across the finish line on Heliodor Hybris - her nations cup mount at last month’s Dublin Horse Show - to knock over two seconds off the time set by Tipperary’s Liam O’Meara on the 12-year-old stallion Mr Coolcaum.

Edward Butler and the stallion Cornet Son filled third place with the last of the double clears after eight of the 32 starters made the jump-off.
