James Nagle easily beat Johnny O’Driscoll in his semi-final at Derrinasafa. He won the opening exchange, but O’Driscoll took the second towards the end of the wall. Nagle then got a brilliant third bowl, but O’Driscoll beat it by four metres. They followed with two more brilliant bowls each to peeping sight at Ross’ with Nagle just fore.

Nagle played two more good bowl to the start of the high hedge, while O’Driscoll was back at Cotter’s cross. O’Driscoll missed the Darkwood turn with his next and Nagle tightened the screws with a good bowl to sight. O’Driscoll missed this with his next to leave a bowl between them. Nagle increased his lead towards a second bowl with a good eighth to the end of the Darkwood turn.
