Peter Nagle had the first significant championship win of 2016 when he beat Anthony Gould in the last shot at Templemichael in the Cork City Junior A race.

Gould set a new record for the first shot, beating the mark previously set by Martin Coppinger. Nagle got a reasonably good opening throw, but he played his second to the right and missed Gould’s tip to concede a bowl of odds.

Nagle got a good third to sight, which knocked the bowl of odds. Gould was unlucky to miss sight with his, but it meant his lead was back to just 60m after his third throw. Nagle clipped the lead to 20m with his next to the white wall. Gould kept the lead in the next shot to sight.
