Burgess Import to send Curraheen Park punters out on a high

The make-up of the final race on tonight’s eleven-race programme at Curraheen Park favours Burgess Import, and the least-exposed of the six runners gets the nap to land the spoils for Sheila Spillane and JJ Fennelly.

The well-bred sort was an impressive all-the-way winner in A1 grade two runs ago but missed the kick and found early trouble when out with the washing in open class on his most recent outing. That run is best ignored, and he can be expected to bounce straight back.

Flanked by modest breakers, he has the early dash to turn in front, and therein lies the winning of the race.
