The London 2012 silver medallist, now boxing at lightweight in the pro ranks, recorded a 40-34,40-34, 40-33 win after four over Indiana leftie Dwayne Wisdom. The landslide decision improves Nevin to six straight victories.

Nevin will move back up to a six-round fight for his next outing in Indiana in nine days’ time.

The only Irish boxer to be ranked No.1 in the World by AIBA besides Katie Taylor and Michael Conlan is in against Detroit’s Greg Coverson Jnr, a southpaw.

Unbeaten Jason Quigley will meet an opponent to be confirmed in Nevada on Friday night in his ninth pro outing.

Nevin and Quigley won double gold for Ireland on the same day at the European Elite Championships in Belarus in June 2013. Both remain undefeated in the pro ranks after 14 fights.

Meanwhile Wladimir Klitschko has dismissed the two advantages of height and stance Tyson Fury is said to possess, insisting that neither will trouble him when they fight on November 28.

The undefeated Fury will be the underdog when he travels to Dusseldorf’s ESPRIT Arena to challenge the IBF, WBO and WBA world heavyweight champion.
