Montenotte ready for DCU test

Basketball’s big game of the weekend is in the Women’s premier league when leaders DCU Mercy host the champions Team Montenotte.

DCU are presently on a five-game unbeaten run but coach Mark Ingle is under no illusions this game will gauge their progress.

“We all know that Montenotte were beaten by Killester but that counts for nothing when we meet them as I am sure it will be another tactical battle,” Ingle said.

The mood in the Montenotte camp is positive despite their defeat to Killester as coach Mark Scannell looks forward to another clash with their great Dublin rivals.

“Killester basically played better than us last weekend but look I am a firm believer one swallow never made a summer and I am hoping for a reaction in this crucial game,” Mark said.

Men’s Premier league leaders Templeogue should have few problems maintaining their unbeaten record when they visit Eanna.

Champions C&S UCC Demons make the long trip north to play Belfast Star with joint captain Ciaran O’Sullivan believing his side is improving with each outing.

Carleton Cuff who missed Demons’ win over Moycullen is expected to return following a back strain.
