France and Wales go head to head

France and Wales put their unbeaten records on the line when they clash in the second round of the European Championship at Cardiff Arms Park tonight.

France and Wales go head to head

The encounter celebrates 80 years of the four-nation European Championship — Wales faced France in the inaugural game of the first competition in Bordeaux on New Year’s Day 1935.

The French made a winning start to the competition against Ireland before suffering a record 84-4 mauling in their one-off international by England last Saturday, and are boosted by the return of new captain Theo Fages and Catalans Dragons duo Jason Baitieri and Tony Gigot.
